For many Ukrainian children, coming to Latvia was not a choice. Because of the war, they had to leave behind their homes, friends, schools, and familiar lives. In a new country, they face new challenges: learning a new language, adapting to a different school system, making new friends, and finding a sense of safety and belonging again.
Perlyna was created to make this journey easier. We support Ukrainian children and families in Latvia by providing education, Latvian language learning, psychological and social support, and a caring community where children can feel safe, understood, and accepted.
Your donation helps provide children with warm meals, support with schoolwork, Latvian language lessons, psychological support when they need it, and a safe place where they can learn, grow, make friends, and simply be children. It also helps make this support accessible to families who are rebuilding their lives in Latvia.
Just as importantly, we help children stay connected to their Ukrainian language, culture, and identity. We believe that successful integration should never mean losing their roots. Children can become part of Latvian society, build their future here, and still know who they are and where they come from.
