About Us - Riga Holy Trinity Congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia

Holy Trinity Church was built according to the design of J. D. Felsko. It was consecrated on 21 May 1878, during the feast of the Holy Trinity. The church was built in North German brick Gothic forms. It has three naves. The side naves have flat ceilings, while the central one has a pointed-arch vault. The church tower does not rise above the main volume; the church has an extended choir section and is symmetrical. A small turret rises above the ridge of the roof at the altar end. Buttresses rhythmically divide the outer walls of the congregation hall. The upper storey of the tower is octagonal, topped by a tall, pointed roof. Geometric forms and flat surfaces dominate the exterior of the church, rather than playful decoration. Only the main entrance portal features early Gothic flower-bud capitals and pinnacle-like turrets.
